In this post I would like to point out the brown pencil skirt. I found it in a secondhand shop and when I saw it I immediately had a picture of how to upgrade it in my mind. You see, it was only plain brown skirt with this satin-like shine of the fabric. In that time I was enjoying the new TV show Scream Queens and inspired by the over the top looks I decided I will upgrade this plain skirt with some yellow flower shaped beads. I think it ended up really nice. It was my first project that followed the upcycling philosophy (well, it was not a drastic change but it added something to the garment).
Do you upcycle your old or secondhand garments?

  1. Adding yellow flowers is a nice touch. I upcycle all the time by turning dresses into tops, adding lace or sewing fabric onto plain pockets and little things like that

    1. You are experienced in it!
I always tell myself I will buy something secondhand to up-cycle it but then I cannot find something that I would like to re-do and most of the time I am already happy with how it looks or fits.
