7 fashion documentaries to watch

In this blogpost I am sharing some of my favourite documentaries about fashion. Some are new and some of them are becoming a classic that I think every fashion enthusiast should watch (this is the case of the September Issue). There are three documentaries connected to the fashion magazine Vogue. I am including also documentaries about famous personalities that became icons - Iris Apfel and Diana Vreeland - I admire these two ladies a lot and for different reasons. Iris Apfel has an amazing personal style and I hope when I am her age that I will be as cool as she is. I admire Diana Vreeland for being a visionary, what she did for Harper´s Bazaar is truly wonderful, I think that some of the photoshoots are still relevant even in these days, decades later. I also included the Dior and I documentary because it explained very well to me the Dior haute couture F/W 2012 collection by Raf Simons. I did not like it when I first saw it but this documentary changed my mind because it showed all the ideas behind it and it totally made sense. I am including also a series Fashion Bloggers, I encourage you to watch it to be able to see at least a bit behind the curtain. It was nice to see that even big bloggers are still using just their tripod and timer to take their own photos ;)

V tomto článku se s vámi podělím o několik mých oblíbených dokumentů o módě. Některé z nich jsou relativní novinkou, jiné jsou dnes již klasiky, o kterých se domnívám, že by je měl vidět každý, do se zajímá o módu (jako např. September issue). Mám tu hned tři dokumenty spojené s módním magazínem Vogue. Též přidávám dokumenty o osobnostech, které se staly ikonami - Iris Apfel a Diana Vreeland - obě velmi obdivuji, každou z jiného důvodu. Iris Apfel má skvělý styl a doufám, že až budu v jejím věku, budu podobně stylová. Dianu Vreeland obdivuji, protože byla vizionářkou. To, co dokázala vytvořit pro Harper´s Bazaar je úžasné a mnohé fotografické série jsou relevantní i dnes, po desítkách let. Též jsem zahrnula i dokument Dior and I, protože skvěle vysvětlil jeho haute couture kolekci Rafa Simonse pro Dior na podzim/zimu 2012. Když jsem ji viděla prvně, nelíbila se mi, ale tento dokument nabídl vysvětlení všeho, co za její tvorbou stálo, což změnilo můj názor na ni. Zároveň přidávám seriál Fashion Bloggers, na který byste se měli podívat, pokud chcete trochu nahlédnout pod pokličku. Bylo fajn vidět, že i slavná blogerka stále občas používá jen stativ a samospoušť, aby nafotila své fotky na blog ;)
