Retro movies of the '60s

There are only a few days left to visit the exhibition Retro movies of the '60s - '90s at the Dancing House in Praha. The exhibition is about older Czech movies and series, so the visitor can enjoy the costumes and props and a bit info about them.

It is interesting to see some of the costumes in person because in a few cases I was surprised that they look better on the TV screen or on photos than in person. This was especially the case of some over decorated costumes but in the movie, it is not that noticeable and looks good. I have also seen some sewing mistakes (usually threads that were showing at skirts waists), which is once again invisible on the screen. It could also be seen that some of the costumes needed some repairs while filming or were left with a torn zipper etc.

Už jen posledních pár dní zbývá na návštěvu výstavy Retro biják 60. - 90. let v Tančícím domě v Praze. Výstava je o starších českých filmech a seriálech a najdete na ní kostýmy a rekvizity z nich a pár slov o jejich natáčení nebo významu.
Je celkem zajímavé vidět osobně některé kostýmy protože v některých případech mě překvapilo, že vlastně na obrazovce nebo na fotkách vypadají lépe než ve skutečnosti. To bylo hlavně v případě kostýmů, které mně v reálu připadaly příliš přezdobené, ale ve filmu to vypadá dobře, jaksi se to ztratí. U některých šatů jsem zas objevila trochu krejčovské prohřešky (hlavně šlo o viditelné nitě u řasení sukní v pase), které se opět na obrazovce ztratí. U některých kostýmů bylo též vidět, že docela utrpěly během natáčení a byly spravované nebo už ponechané s vytrženým zipem apod.

I was glad that I had the opportunity to see my favourite costume from movie Adela had not have her supper yet but I was a bit surprised that it looked nicer in the movie - although after looking at a still from the movie it seems that some parts of the dress are missing so the exhibited piece might have been a bit sloppier duplicate of the costume. At least I could have looked closer at the construction because I would like to sew a skirt inspired by this costume for myself.
And there was also the central brain of humanity from The Visitors, so that is basically all I needed to see ;)

The exhibition was a pleasant return to retro times so if you are into some older Czech movies I really recommend this exhibition to you. You could see costumes from Adela had not have her supper yet, Lemonade Joe, How to drown Dr. Mracek, the lawyer, Four murders are enough, darling, Arabela, The Visitors, Morgiana, Sir, you are a widow and many more. The exhibition ends 21st October 2018.

Potěšilo mě, že jsem měla příležitost vidět jeden můj oblíbený kostým z filmu Adéla ještě nevečeřela a opět mě překvapilo, že ve filmu vypadají mnohem lépe - i když po srovnání s fotkou z filmu jsem si všimla, že kostým není kompletní, takže šlo možná o lehce ošizený duplikát kostýmu. Prohlédla jsem si alespoň blíže jak je konstruovaný, protože podobnou sukni si chci už dlouho udělat.

A pak tu taky byl centrální mozek lidstva z Návštěvníků, takže víc už ani vidět nepotřebuji ;)

Výstava na mě působila jako milé retro, takže pokud máte rádi některé starší české filmy, určitě vám návštěvu doporučuji. Najdete tu kostýmy z filmů Adéla ještě nevečeřela, Limonádový Joe, Starci na chmelu, Jak utopit doktora mráčka, Čtyři vraždy stačí, drahoušku, Arabela, Návštěvníci, Morgiana, Pane vy jste vdova a další. Výstava končí 21. 10. 2018.
