Living Coral - the Pantone colour of year 2019

The colour of the year 2019 was recently chosen by Pantone. We can look forward to seeing more products in living coral colour, which is a lovely orange colour with a warming golden undertone. I agree that this colour is optimistic and somewhat heartwarming. The name of the colour refers to the sea life and especially the corals reefs that were in past years suffering because of the polluted sea ecosystem. The topic of single use plastic products was talked about a lot in 2018, these plastics are polluting the sea. The choice of the colour´s name (living coral) might be an attempt to emphasize the need to live more ecologically to protect our Earth and of course the coral reefs that are dying because of the climate change and pollution.

V prosinci společnost Pantone zvolila barvu roku 2019. Můžeme se tedy těšit na více věcí v barvě živého korálu (living coral), což je krásný oranžový odstín s hřejivým zlatavým podtónem. Souhlasím, že tato barva je optimistická a milá. Název odkazuje na mořské živočichy, zejména na korály, které v posledních letech velmi trpí kvůli znečištění mořského ekosystému. V roce 2018 se velmi řešilo téma jednorázových plastů, jejichž používání vede ke znečišťování moří. Výběr názvu barvy (živý korál - living coral) může tedy být snahou o zdůraznění nutnosti žít ekologičtěji, abychom ochránili Zemi, respektive korálové útesy, které odumírají kvůli klimatickým změnám a znečištění.
