The red poppy superbloom round the corner

Superblooms are gorgeous. I am always so happy when I stumble upon one. Some (for example Antelope California Poppy Reserve) are even a protected site and I think it is well deserved. That´s why it was a bit sad to realize that this wonderful place on the photos below will soon not exist because of the ongoing construction that are soon to get here. I think that the poppies were seeded here by man and are to be harvested for poppy seeds when ripe, but they still look gorgeous, and in these hot days one even more realizes that every little piece of nature is needed and needs to be preserved.

Početná květenství jsou překrásná a mám vždy velkou radost, když na nějaké narazím. Některá (jako například Antelope California Poppy Reserve) jsou dokonce chráněná a myslím, že si to právem zaslouží. Právě z tohoto důvodu mě zamrzelo, když jsem si uvědomila, že toto nádherné místo na fotkách níže již brzy zanikne kvůli plánované výstavbě. I když bylo toto pole vlčích máků nejspíše záměrně vyseto za účelem sklizně, stejně vypadá úžasně a v těchto horkých dnech si ještě více uvědomuji, jak je každý kousek přírody důležitý.
