Today I would like to bring you with me to the charming island Madre. Isola Madre (= the mother island) is one of the Isole Borromee in the lake Maggiore in Italy. When landing at the island you need to pay an entrance fee to the huge garden and a villa that is located there. Without the ticket there isn´t much to do, there are a few souvenir shops and a restaurant, if I remember correctly, beside the stalls that sell the tickets.
The whole island is full of greenery and feels very fresh even during hot humid days. They water the plants there extensively, otherwise they would dry out. I can imagine spending there a whole day strolling arond and enjoying the fresh shades created by the trees. The visit is usually combined with a visit of Isola Bella, that is not far away.
Celý ostrov je pokryt botanickou zahradou a je velmi svěží i během dusných veder. Rostliny zde opravdu štědře zavlažují, protože by jinak uschly na troud. Umím si představit strávit zde celý den ve stínech stromů. Návštěva Isola Madre bývá kombinovaná s návštěvou nedalekého Isola Bella.
Isola Madre has a very interesting fauna. They had very fancy birds there.
Na Isola Madre je opravdu zajímavá zvířena. Mají zde opravdu vyfešákované ptactvo.
The villa is interesting inside too, but I enjoyed more the views from its windows. The lake is like a sea. The omnipresent palm trees and oleanders are gorgeous.
Samotná vila je uvnitř také pěkná, ale já jsem byla více unešená výhledy z oken. Jezero vypadá jako moře a všudypřítomné palmy a oleandry jsou nádherné.
I went there but we didn't realise there was nothing else but this attraction so we went to another set of islands. Looks nice but doesn't really attract me too much
