Finally finished my brown coat

The winter is almost gone, but I finally managed to make myself finish this brown winter coat. This was a long term project for me since I have been "working" on it for a few winters already. I believe I took the initial photos of the fabric and the pieces I cut from it, but I am unable to locate them. So, I just have a few more recent pics from the sewing process. With these bigger projects I usually put them down once I arrive at a point that is a bit more difficult for me or I don´t feel like resolving it right now. With this coat it was the troubles with the hem line that I reworked multiple times. I had troubles to make it narrow. At the same time I wasn´t sure how to fasten it. I didn´t want it to have buttons and buttonholes to make the fronts of the coat look "clean". Currently I just tie the fronts with the belt and I think I will leave it like this and won´t do any updates to this. Sadly, I realized after just a few outings, that the fabric susceptible to create lints, so it probably isn´t the best choice for a coat. (But what else would you make from such a heavy buclé fabric?)

Zima už je sice skoro pryč, ale já se konečně donutila dokončit tento hnědý kabát. Byl to opět dlouhodobý projekt, na kterém jsem "pracovala" už několik zim. Myslím si, že jsem si i vyfotila štůček této látky před stříháním a poté i nastříhané kusy kabátu, ale už je prostě nejsem schopna dohledat, takže holt jen několik čerstvějších fotek z procesu šití. U těchto větších projektů se často zaseknu, když narazím na nějaký problém a nechce se mi jej hned řešit nebo se rozhoduji jak dál. V tomto případě šlo o zarovnání spodního lemu kabátu, o což jsem se snažila hned několikrát. Také jsem do poslední chvíle nebyla rozhodnutá ohledně zapínání. Od začátku jsem nechtěla dělat knoflíky a dírky, protože jsem chtěla mít nenarušené linie přednic kabátu. V současnosti přednice prostě jen přepásám páskem a myslím, že to takhle nechám. Bohužel jsem jen po pár nošeních zjistila, že tato látka se bude hodně žmolkovat a chlupatit, takže asi nešlo o vhodnou volbu na kabát. (Ale co jiného ušít z takového těžkého buklé?)
