December through Insta stories´ eyes

In December the Czech government decided to ease a bit the everpresent lockdown, so for a while we were even able to enjoy pubs and restaurants. You know, go for a lunch during the workweek, how luxurious. Then the comedy continued when they closed the restaurants again and allowed only takeaways and then banned selling coffee to go for consumption outside, so it was still sold but with a note that is cannot be consumed outside. If this was a movie it would maybe be hillarious, but since it is a reality, it is shocking.

V prosinci se naše vláda rozhodla rozvolnit svá nekončící restriktivní opatření, takže jsme si na chvíli užili i hospody a restaurace. Třeba jsem si mohla zase dojít na oběd během pracovních dní, jaký luxus. A pak ta komedie zase pokračovala - restaurace se opět zavřely a povolil se jen prodej z okénka a pak se zakázala konzumace nápojů s sebou venku. Takže se kafe s sebou prodávalo s nápisem, že není určené ke konzumaci venku. Kdyby tohle byl film, tak by to možná bylo vtipné, ale jelikož jde o realitu, tak je to šokující.

Anyways, the December was quite fun, I did all the December-y stugg, like baking Christmas pastries and enjoying the first snowflakes that melted away during the same day. (In January though! We now have quite a lot of snow, even in big cities, which is a rarity.) I discovered that an addition to the 1940s book of sewing patterns exists, I had no idea! So I was very happy to add it to my collection of books about fashion. And I started sewing another coat - this time a red one and I want to sew on some black ribbons, that will take some time. Let´s hope it will be ready for the next season.

Jinak byl prosinec takový klasický, podnikala jsem celkem typické prosincové aktivity - pekla cukroví a obdivovala první sníh, který hned ten den roztál. (Na rozdíl od toho lednového teď, který zůstává i ve velkých městech, což je docela vzácnost.) Zjistila jsem, že má kniha střihů ze 40. let má přílohu, tak jsem plna nadšení zařadila další kousek do mé sbírky knih o módě. A začala jsem šít další kabát - tentokráte červený a chci na něj našít černé aplikace, takže to bude dlouhodobý projekt. Snad bude hotový aspoň na příští sezónu.

And let me wish you happy new year 2021, let´s hope it will be less turbulent than 2020, though we started wildly already (I am refering to the USA Capitol events).

Závěrem vám chci popřát vše nejlepší do nového roku 2021, snad bude klidnější než rok 2020, i když už začal celkem divoce (narážím na dění v Kapitolu v USA).
