Anna Baker was born into an affluent Baker family in the 19th century, residing in the Baker Mansion in Altoona, Pennsylvania, USA, a symbol of the Baker family wealth and status, which was later turned into a museum. Anna fell in love with a man, however her father Elias Baker, was against the marriage due to Anna´s beau´s lower social status. Her father´s stance was not uncommon in the 19th century, when marriages were often arranged to gain more wealth and social status rather than for love. This lead to a life of unfulfilled love and sorrow for Anna who never married.

Rodina bydlela v sídle Bakerů v Altoona, Pennsylvania, USA, které bylo symbolem bohatství a statusu této rodiny, a které bylo později proměněno v muzeum. Anna se zamilovala do muže, avšak její otec, byl proti jejich svazku, protože muž, kterého Anna milovala byl z nižší společenské třídy. Postoj Annina otce v této době nebyl ničím neobvyklým, protože v 19. století se manželské svazky uzavíraly pro obohacení a získání lepšího společenského statusu, a nikoliv pro lásku. Annina láska tak zůstala nenaplněna, zbytek života strávila ve smutku a nikdy se neprovdala.

It was later placed on display in a glass case in her bedroom at the Baker Mansion. This memorabilia and the spooky story that is tied to it became the focal point of the museum. It symbolises the personal tragedies often caused by the societal constraints of the era that shaped the lives of women in the 19th century.

Anna měla připravené svatební šaty, ale kvůli otcově odmítavému postoji, je nikdy neoblékla. Tyto šaty jsou k vidění ve skleněné vitríně v jejím pokoji v domě Bakerů. Tento exponát a duchařská historka, která se k němu pojí jsou hlavními taháky muzea. Šaty jsou symbolem osobní tragédie, která byla způsobena společenskými konvencemi, jež silně ovlivňovaly život žen obecně v 19. století.

The legend has it that visitors and staff at the Baker Mansion have reported numerous paranormal activities associated with the dress. It is said that Anna’s spirit haunts the mansion, particularly her wedding dress. Witnesses claim to have seen the dress in the glass case move on its own and some have heard unexplained sounds of crying or footsteps. This is the reason why it is said that Anna’s spirit haunts her unworn wedding dress, forever mourning the unfulfilled love.

Říká se, že návštěvníci i zaměstnanci muzea v Bakerově domě vídají paranormální aktivity, které jsou spojené s těmito svatebními šaty. Svědci tvrdí, že viděli, jak se šaty uzavřené ve vitríně hýbají, nebo že slyšeli pláč či kroky, které nešlo nijak vysvětlit. Z těchto důvodů se říká, že Annin duch je spjat s Anninými svatebními šaty a navždy se souží nenaplněnou láskou.
